Kingston

On monday we visited the coffee factory in Mavis Bank where we were almost refused to go on a visit. First thing they made us read the dress code and since flip flops are not allowed, we had to go back to the car and change shoes . Then they explained everything about coffee and let us taste it. Friendliness however is different.

Later we were headed downhill to Kingston. First time we took time for the big city. We checked into Mayfair Hotel which is situated just behind the famous Devon House,a really charming Gingerbread house in the middle of New Kingston. It was once build and owned by the first black millionaire of the country. A very impressing tour around the Greathouse and a visit to the famous Devonhouse I-scream shop or their bakery, which has the most delicious cakes on the island.

The next morning, we went to Port Royal, once the wickedest city in the whole Caribbean. Later about that.
